Para-spinal Injections

Targeted injections can be useful in identifying the source of the pain for future treatment and at times can be curative. These can be performed either awake or under sedation, in some cases. Based on the MRI / CT scan findings the injections that could be considered are: nerve root blocks, facet joint blocks, caudal epidural injection, Sacro-iliac joint injections, Sacro-coccygeal joint injections. The injectate is usually a combination of a long acting local anaesthetic and a locally acting steroid such as Depo-Medrone.
